8 Best Orbs In Peglin (2024)

Peglin is a bubble shooter indie game and roguelike with elements of a turn-based RPG. Players shoot orbs to pop pegs, much like in Peggle. Popped pegs build points that deal damage to enemies. Throughout the game, people can gather different upgrades in the form of orbs and relics. These are useful since the game is also a roguelike, meaning that if players lose a level they can restart with relics carrying over.

When it comes to deciding which orbs to take or not, thinking ahead is key. Some orbs are good on their own while others are only useful if combined with others for a specific build. A few orbs should be taken any time they are offered because they are great at level one, even better when upgraded, and don’t rely on a certain build to be successful.

8 Orbsium

The Orbsium is one of the few orbs that doesn’t gain damage when upgraded. The main perk of the Orbsium is that it registers each hit on pegs multiple times without needing to refresh the board. This also means it can explode bombs in one bounce since it registers as several hits.

The only downside to this orb is that the trade-off for hitting multiple pegs is that it deals low damage. Something that can be both good and bad is that the orb hits the selected enemy, not necessarily the first enemy. This means damage can be focused on a specific enemy, but it only targets that single creature.

7 Orboros

The Orboros orb has innate persist and echo attributes. Persist gives it the ability to be shot multiple times before being used. Echo means that the base damage of the Orboros is the damage of the last orbs dealt multiplied by the echo percent. This means the potential of the orb's starting damage is great assuming the last attack was powerful enough.

Unlike most orbs that are gotten through orb selection, the Orboros can only be obtained after an event when players remove every orb from their inventory, making attaining this orb a risk. The echo effect on this orb also does not persist past reload, but does when entering new levels.

6 Nosforbatu

The Nosforbatu heals players for each peg they hit. That same amount of health regained is dealt to the enemy as damage. It's one of the best consistent healing options. The orb initially damages players when thrown, and the player must heal to inflict damage. Because of this, the damage is limited to how much health the player regains.

As the Nosforbatu orb is leveled, the damage dealt is multiplied, but so is the initial damage the player takes. This orb can allow players to heal to full with a good shot, but if fired on low health can kill the player.

5 Echorb

Much like the Orboros, the Echorb uses echo to deal bonus damage based on the attack of the last orb shot. In addition, it has piercing, one of the most useful attributes in the game. Piercing allows players to deal high damage since it goes through enemy shields.

Thanks to the piercing effect, this orb attacks all enemies. Like other orbs with echo though, the damage can vary greatly based on the orb used before it and the effect is only usable once per level.

4 Matryorbshka

The Matryorbshka splits into multiple copies when it hits a peg. Every level it's upgraded adds another multiball to this orb, increasing its possibility for damage immensely. The Matryorbshka is the only orb to have the multiball attribute naturally.

However, this orb doesn't gain damage when upgraded, just offers potential for more damage by having more orbs on the board. It also cannot attack multiple enemies at once, and a slime peg can prevent the multiball from going off.

3 Icircle

The Icircle orb can pierce through pegs and enemies. The first peg hit on the board is phased through, but if that peg is a bomb, it will hit and phase through the next normal peg it interacts with.

Not only does the Icircle orb have the piercing effect, meaning it goes through shields, but upon a critical hit it attacks all enemies. Though its normal damage is alright, critical hits are where this orb shines, stabbing through enemies like a sharp icicle.

2 Ball Lightning

The Ball Lightning orb can be gotten through either orb selection or by lightning in an event. This orb will hit all enemies within the targeted column during a critical hit and can target any enemy. As it is upgraded, it will zap the pegs near it. This orb can also go through knights' shields.

Like the Matryorbshk, the Ball Lightning orb can hit multiple pegs at once, giving it an advantage at accumulating damage and hitting critical and refresh pegs. However, slime pegs will negate its zapping effect.

1 Poltorbgeist

The Poltorbgeist has a similar projectile as the Echorb. It has the piercing ability which makes it useful for hitting multiple enemies. It also phases through shields like a poltergeist.

While many orbs attack either the closest enemy or a single selected one, a few orbs can attack multiple enemies. Those are some of the best options for large-scale damage. The Poltorbgeist always hits all enemies, making it one of the most powerful orbs in the game.
